Browser Recommendations

One-line recommendation

We strongly recommend Chrome or Edge (Chromium-based, with the best compatibility). Domestic browsers (360 / QQ / UC) work, but occasionally have minor compatibility issues.

Notes for domestic browsers

Domestic browsers (360 / QQ / Sogou / UC) have two engine modes:

  • Speed mode / high-speed mode / Chromium mode = uses the Chrome engine ✅
  • Compatibility mode / IE mode = uses the old IE engine ❌

There's usually a "🔄 lightning icon" next to the address bar to switch. Be sure to choose speed mode.

How to adjust

Keyboard shortcuts:

  • Ctrl/⌘ + + zoom in

  • Ctrl/⌘ + 0 reset to 100%

Recommended zoom

  • 1920×1080 screen → 100% is best
  • 1366×768 laptop screen → 90% is more suitable
  • 2K / 4K screen → 110–125% (or set OS-level scaling to 150%)

Common browser issues

Q: The page won't open / keeps spinning

  • Check whether the network is working (test by opening another site)
  • Try clearing the cache: Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + Delete → select "Cached images and files" → clear
  • Try a different browser (Chrome / Edge)

Q: Some buttons do nothing when clicked

  • Most likely the browser blocked a popup — a 🚫 icon appears on the right of the address bar; click it to allow popups for this site
  • Check whether an ad-blocker extension is installed; disable it and refresh

Q: The print button does nothing when clicked

  • The browser blocked a popup
  • The browser itself may block repeated print triggers (refresh the page and try again)
  • See Quick Printer Self-Help

Q: The page layout is misaligned / garbled

  • Most likely you're using a domestic browser's compatibility mode / IE mode
  • Switch to speed mode (the lightning icon next to the address bar)

Q: Chrome gets slower and slower over time

  • Too many extensions / too many tabs
  • Use the Task Manager (Shift + Esc) to see which tab is eating memory, and close it

Q: Does Mac Safari have compatibility issues?

  • Generally no, but if you hit an occasional issue on Safari, we recommend switching to Chrome / Edge for Mac

Q: Can I use an iPad / tablet browser?

  • iPad Safari / Chrome work, but the layout is designed for desktop, so some operations may feel awkward
  • For tablets, we recommend installing the Jenny Fabric Software app for a better experience

Q: Can I access it over a domestic server's intranet?

  • Of course. Jenny Software is accessed via public domains (www.jenny.cn / fabric.jenny.cn), so as long as the server can reach HTTPS, it works

Upgrading your browser

Older browser versions may have security vulnerabilities + compatibility issues. We recommend upgrading at least every 6 months:

  • Chrome: top-right → Settings → About Chrome → auto-check for updates
  • Edge: top-right → Help and Feedback → About Microsoft Edge
  • Safari: comes automatically with macOS system updates
