Automatic conversion between primary and secondary units of measure for fabric, such as kilograms to meters

Overview

Jenny Software provides automatic conversion for the unit-of-measure conversions common in the fabric business, such as kilograms to meters, meters to kilograms, or between meters and yards.

Workflow

1. Configure the conversion factor in the product information

   • Enter the width information
   • Enter the weight information
   • Choose the primary and secondary units
   • Click the calculator icon to auto-generate the conversion ratio

2. Application scenarios

   • The system calculates automatically when creating a sales note
   • You can also skip the upfront setup and manually enter the primary/secondary unit quantities directly in the document

Calculation example

Given:

• Width: 145 cm = 1.45 m
• Weight: 200 g/㎡
• Total weight: 100 kg = 100,000 g

Calculation steps:

1. Weight per meter of fabric = 1.45 ㎡ × 200 g/㎡ = 290 g/m
2. Total meters = 100,000 g ÷ 290 g/m ≈ 344.83 m
