Printer Troubleshooting Quick Guide
Find your answer by symptom first
Over 90% of printer problems can be solved on your own. Find the symptom you're experiencing below and click the matching link for detailed steps. If the issue persists after trying them, then contact the right party—for hardware issues, contact the printer manufacturer; for software issues, contact Jenny Software.
Printout blurry / Chinese text fuzzy / QR code won't scan?
This is usually because the printer's resolution is too low, not a template problem. First confirm your thermal printer is 300 DPI or higher—a cheap 200 DPI model will inevitably blur the fine print on fabric hang tags, and no amount of template tweaking can fix it.
📞 First, figure out: who should I contact?
| Symptom | Who handles it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Printer won't power on, abnormal indicator lights, paper jam, strange noises | 🏭 Printer manufacturer | Hardware fault—the manufacturer has repair staff and warranty coverage |
| Can't install the driver on your computer, driver errors | 🏭 Printer manufacturer | The driver is theirs; they know it best |
| Faint print, missing color, stray lines | 🏭 Printer manufacturer | Ribbon/ink/toner/printhead issue |
| Clicking "Print" in the software does nothing | 💻 Jenny Software | A software button issue |
| Printout has wrong content, missing fields, messed-up formatting | 💻 Jenny Software | A template issue |
| Content is off-center, right side cut off, amounts not fully visible | 📘 See self-help below first | Usually a paper size or scaling setting |
Important reminder
A printer is a hardware device, just like a computer or a phone. For problems with the hardware itself (won't power on / paper jam / driver / consumables), contacting the manufacturer is more professional and faster. Jenny Software is a software vendor, and we're glad to assist you, but for deep hardware issues we have to contact the manufacturer too—adding us as a middleman only slows things down.
