Image Categories Explained

Why three libraries?

A fabric trader's images have different sensitivity levels — cover images shown to customers need to look good, internal-reference factory floor photos shouldn't leak, and personal inspiration images shouldn't be seen by colleagues.

Jenny Software solves all of this at once with three tiered libraries: public / internal / private.

Definitions of the three libraries

LibraryWho can seeExternal sharingImage searchSuits
Public libraryEveryone (company employees + customers + showroom visitors)✅ Supported✅ SupportedCover images / color cards / marketing images that customers can see
Internal libraryCompany employees (not visible externally)❌ Not supported✅ SupportedFactory floor photos / process details / shrinkage measurements
Private libraryOnly the uploader❌ Not supported❌ Not supportedInspiration images / sketches / personal memos

Quantity and size

ItemLimit
Public libraryUp to 50 images / sample
Internal libraryUp to 50 images / sample
Private libraryUp to 50 images / sample (only you)
Color imagesUp to 3 per color (number of colors is unlimited)
Size per imageImages over 10MB are compressed automatically before upload—no manual processing needed

Supported formats

  • Images: JPG / PNG / WebP

What about HEIC photos taken on an iPhone?

We recommend converting sample photos to JPG / PNG before uploading (your phone's photo album usually converts them automatically when you share).

UseRecommended sizeNotes
Sample cover image1080×1080 squareBest for showroom / buyer side / card sharing
Sample detail large imageWithin 1920×1920High-definition viewing, with good zoom and rotation
Color image (per color)Within 400×400Color cards arrange neatly
Label print imageWithin 600×600Thermal printing has limited resolution

Below the recommended size still works

The system has no hard requirement on minimum size. But very small images (<300px) become blurry when enlarged.

Automatic processing by the system

Auto-processingEffect
Large-image compressionImages over 10MB are compressed automatically on import, reducing storage and data usage
Multi-size generationThumbnail (lists) + medium (details) + original (download)
On-demand loadingLists / details load different sizes on demand, reducing data usage

Bulk image import

Sample images come in together with the Excel import: add an image column in the Excel (with a header that is one of 图片 / 封面 / Picture / Image / Cover), then insert images directly into the corresponding rows, or fill in image URLs in that column (the system fetches them automatically). When an image column is included, the per-import row count is lower.

See Bulk Data Import → How to import sample images together.

Watermark / anti-theft when sharing public images

Automatic watermark

Public images can be configured under "Marketing → Showroom Settings":

  • Company logo watermark (adjustable opacity / position)
  • Company name + contact info watermark
  • Multiple watermark templates

Put sensitive images in the right library

Don't put high-value know-how in the public library

  • Images visible to customers will inevitably be screenshotted and saved
  • Don't convey key know-how through images (put it in internal / private)
  • Process details / shrinkage data / internal price lists, etc. → the internal library

Image-search differences across the three libraries

LibraryCan it be found by search
Public library✅ Any employee's search can find it
Internal library✅ Company employees can find it
Private library❌ Only you can find it

See Search by Image.

FAQ

Q: Can a public image be changed to private?

A: Yes. On the sample edit page you can adjust which library each image belongs to.

Q: What is the per-library image limit?

A: 50 images / sample per library (raised from 9 in June 2026—enough room even for customers with lots of color cards). Color images: up to 3 per color, with no limit on the number of colors.

Q: Can I add notes / descriptions to images?

A: Yes. Each image can have descriptive text (visible on the detail page, not shown when printing).

Q: Can the same image be attached to multiple samples?

A: Not directly (each sample stores its own images). On import, one row (one sample) corresponds to its own images.

Q: If an image is deleted, can it be recovered?

A: Yes. Contact support within 30 days to restore from backup.

Q: Can iPhone HEIC photos be uploaded directly?

A: We recommend converting sample photos to JPG / PNG before uploading (your phone's photo album usually converts the format automatically when you share).
